RICE

Individually glued pieces of white and colored Basmati rice. Initially interested in exploring the grid systems. Total of five pieces were made between 2009 and 2014. The sixth piece was cast in plaster which destroyed the original. The first piece I made has yellowed in color over the years and is slowly decomposing highlighting the impermanence of organic matter. Each individual piece was made over time with great devotion.
